Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Who needs this course?
Any worker based at a remote or isolated PNG site — mining, forestry, plantations, maritime and remote construction — where emergency services cannot respond quickly.
How is this different from Provide First Aid?
It builds on standard first aid with skills for extended casualty care, communication and evacuation coordination — specifically for situations where help is hours, not minutes, away.
Does it cover evacuation training?
It covers preparing a casualty for evacuation and coordinating with an evacuation or medical team, rather than operating evacuation equipment itself.
Can you deliver this at our remote site?
Yes — this is the course we most recommend delivering onsite, so training reflects your actual site conditions and evacuation arrangements.
How long is the certificate valid?
Annual renewal is recommended for staff regularly working at remote or isolated sites, in line with most employer requirements.
